Black Knight Scabiosa
Scabiosa atropurpurea
These big floofy blooms are so purple they are nearly black. Makes a great moody addition to floral arrangements and as a robust cut and come again it is prolific. The more you cut the more it blooms. I nearly deadhead every day to keep the blooms coming and save all every single flower head to dry for later dye projects.
These seeds have been gathered from my dye garden at their peak color potency and it’s remarkably impressive any make it to seed stage as I am diligently gathering each flower for either fresh flower pounding (Tataki-zomé), bundle dyeing, fresh dye bath or added to the flower press to be saved for later botanical prints.
Dye guide coming soon for more details.
