Coreopsis, Lance-leafed
Coreopsis lanceolata
A beautifully versatile perennial flower that blooms all season long on long strong stems. The flowers are great cut flowers and also another favorite for Tataki-zomé (flower ponding or flower printing).
As a perennial and a native wildflower of North America it is considered a delight for pollinator and dye gardens for its bright and cheerful blooms. As plants get well established into year two and produce a bumper crop of continual blooms all summer long. Make sure to deadhead and preserve in a flower press for later printing in a bundle dye transfer.
As a garden flower I find these quite striking in their form and shape. Once they get established they are drought tolerant and can become quite full so make sure to not overcrowd them when planting.

Sow 4-6 weeks before last frost. Transplant out after last frost. Young plants may not bloom in the first year. My experience this variety usually does. Keep deadheading all season long for continuous blooms.
