Come and celebrate the changing seasons as we make preparations for the coming Autumn. Nearing the end of the harvest window is a fun time to decorate our homes, entryways, hallways and doors with the seasons abundance. I always love a fall harvest wreath as it holds a bit of both summer and fall before we turn the page into winter holiday decor.
We will use items grown here on the farm to create our dried decorative wreaths: grasses, ferns, eucalyptus, summer flowers and herbs, garlic, seed pods and more. We will build onto a grapevine base either using jute twine or wire and finish with a botanical dyed sash of your choosing. You will get to select a color or fabric option to complete your wreath.
Along with your wreath we will also be talking about all things garlic. The difference between hard and soft neck garlic, scapes, planting to harvest. You will leave with a seed bulb of garlic (6-10 cloves) to plant in your own garden
**Please note hanging your wreath outside will shorten the lifespan of your wreath. If you would like to hang on the outside of your front door make sure it is under cover from the rain and expect a life span of 2-3 months and the moisture content in the air will rehydrate the dried botanicals and lead to mildew. If you hang indoors your wreath will last for many years.
Please come prepared for rain or shine. We will be outside but if weather is wet we will be undercover and in the studio workshop.
