These herbal extracts are an alcohol extraction tincture made with garden grown plants infused with grain alcohol. I have given the name of each blend as a nod to time before colonial days where elixirs and tonics were made and used by wise woman healers. I chose to not use honey in this formula to make it even more potent and versatile and to make it a base for adding to other beverages: tea with honey or not, mocktails, herbal infused cocktails and for people who can’t have blood sugar spikes.
Instead this is a potent base to be added to your tea and blend with the amount of honey you desire. Sweeteners are so personalized and wanted you to create your own formula. This tincture is not meant to be taken straight as the grain alcohol is quite strong but it delightful when you add a dropper full to a fresh cup of tea or juice.
Rise is a simple blend of Tulsi and Hops which complements one another in the soothing qualities of a nervine. I like to describe it as ‘softening the edges’ when we feel a little or a lot frayed. Calming our central nervous system when our adrenals feel overworked. Can be taken throughout the day but in morning tea helps to set the intentions and tone of the day.
Rest is a blend of the tulsi and hops with the addition of valerian root to add a bit of the end of day relaxation. Taken before bedtime and after we put away our digital distractions allows a peaceful transition to rest.
All of these herbs are grown on the garden and gathered at the peak of freshness and potency. Air dried and then infused for one ‘moon’th- from new moon to new moon.
