Natural Plant Dyeing with Flower Printing
Duration:  Approx 4 hrs
 
Join me as we explore a new way to appreciate plants and the beautiful gift of color they provide.   We will learn a bit about terminology as it applies to adhering color to fiber and the science behind it.  In this class we will be exploring how to transfer plant color onto fiber by pounding or bundle dyeing.  
 
Each participant will get to enjoy some light refreshments and a garden walk as we explore other plants to grow in a small garden space and the world of natural plant Dyes; Indigo, Hopi Sunflower, Rudbeckia, Chamomile, Cosmos and more.  
 
For this class each participant will get a PFD (prepared for Dyeing) blank OS Apron.  The Apron will have already been mordanted and ready for dyeing based on time.  But we will talk about the different types of mordants and how they help the color adhere and last (color fasting).
