Scabiosa ‘Starflower’
Scabiosa Stellata
When I bring Starflower seed pods to the market it draws a crowd. It became so popular that I sold out of seeds mid summer from people eager to try growing in their own gardens. I sold bunches of newly picked seed pods and they were adored by even the most fairest of garden enthusiasts.
If harvested fresh make sure to collect when seed pods are ripe but not too ripe or they will easily shatter. If saving for dry I like to get soon after the blue petals fade and just when the center star defines. Then if your harvesting for seed make sure they have rippened fully for a few weeks. The seeds once fully dry will shatter (release) from the pod with gentle ease.
An absolute must grow for any garden!
